Received a sample of Squirt at Peaks Coaching Group Spring Camp. When I got home I watched a couple YouTube videos on the benefits of wax based lubes and Squirt in particular, also the process suggested to get the best results. I had been using Rock N’ Roll Gold for many years because it worked well and my chain stayed pretty clean, but being fanatical about a clean drive train, always longed for something better. So the Squirt claims are that you get a cleaner chain, less friction which saves watts and less hassle than the traditional paraffin wax process. So I decided to give it a try. I super cleaned
the chain which took about 4 bathes through the Park chain cleaning tool (no black residue when wiped with a clean rag) and then I applied as recommended, rotating the chain backwards and applying Squirt to the inner pins only. This was a little different than my normal application of Rock N Roll which was to apply a drop to the pins only, one link at a time. The Squirt wax doesn’t absorb into the pins as you rotate the crank so the wax gets on your chainring and your cassette when applying. After the initial application I waited over night as recommended and applied the 2nd application of Squirt. It’s recommended that you wait until the wax is dry so you need to plan accordingly. After Squirt was dry, I wiped off the outer plates where some wax had run over on the chain side plates and also cleaned the teeth of my chainring and cassette. So here is my experience so far, the chain absolutely stays cleaner longer. You can reapply without needing to super clean your chain again which is great when you are doing a lot of mileage. I did notice the chain gets a little sticky feeling after a ride so I wipe this off by applying a little degreaser to a rag and lightly clean the plates and the pins top and bottom but very light pressure when rotating the crank. I also clean the jockey wheels as wax accumulates there also. I did get caught in the rain and lightly cleaned the chain and reapplied Squirt with no issues. So far I’m a fan of Squirt. I love keeping my chain clean and I don’t have any watts to loose so the smoothness is a plus also. They say you can just keep applying Squirt without cleaning your chain after each application but I’m much to fanatical to ever try that so I can’t comment. Hope this helps you give Squirt a shot, I think you will be very happy you did, I sure am so far.

I Need All Power I Can Get!!
Thanks for carrying Squirt Lube! This is so hard to find in the US. I have been using it for about a month now and I really love how smooth and clean my chain is now! I wish I had known about this a long time ago!
